Roadmap for 2014

2013 was a pretty busy year for Bookviser. We released Windows 8 app and we’ve almost finished Windows Phone 8 version. Here’s a list of things we plan to bring to life in 2014:
  •  Windows Phone 8 version release (in work, top priority) – will include highlights, notes making, SD card support and more.
  • Synchronization service (in work, top priority) - will synch books between Windows Phone and Windows 8 devices.
  •  Enhancement of Windows 8 version – will include highlights, notes making, portrait mode and more.
  •  More formats for both Windows 8 and Windows Phone platforms: PDF, DjVu, MOBI
  •  Further development of Bookviser service.
Do you think we’ve missed anything important? Let us know!

  2. Hi, I really love your app... But since yesterday I cant sync Skydrive with my phone neither with wifi, or mobile connection. Skydrive works (I tried it from my computer and my phone with skydrive app), please, can you fix it?

    1. Hi, Please use Bookviser account instead for the moment. The error happens on SkyDrive side, we're can't fix it right now on our end.

  3. Windows Phone 8 version release (in work, top priority) – will include highlights, notes making, SD card support and more

When these features are added I will probably switch to bookviser. At the moment I use Freda because of SD card support, but I like the other features that bookviser already has. It's just the lack of SD card support that stops me from using it.

  9. I think you should add more languages. There are some services that allow for asking the users of the application for help in translating. E.g. I would gladly help you to translate this great reader to Polish language so that my friends and family are able to use it more easily. Thanks in advance.

    1. Thank you :). Do you mean the phone or the tablet version? Because the phone one is translated in Polish.

  11. Any update as to when the PDF support will make it in?

    1. Unfortunately at the moment there is a native solution to display PDF only in Windows 8/8.1, not in Windows Phone. We will possibly wait for Windows 10.

  12. Is this still being actively developed? If I may request a feature it would be original formatting for ePub books. I can only continue to use if this is added. I paid for all the other features which is great, needed highlighting 😄

    1. Yes, it's being actively developed, and the original ePub formatting is probably the next feature we will work on. And thank you for your support to our project :).

    2. This is great news! Thank you so much! This is a great reader, and the options on Windows is horrible. Another great feature would be the bookshelf aspect where we can sort bookshelf by category. :) Otherwise, great reader and please keep up the great work :)

    3. You can already sort the bookshelf by category, please check out the sorting options in the bookshelf. It's working for both Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 versions.

    4. Sorry, I meant sort by Category, but in different views, like a bookshelf view, kind of like in iBooks. This is really handy.

    5. Oh, I see. Agree, the actual sorting / grouping can be improved :).

    6. Thank you so much. Another thing if I may, sorry I'm so demanding 😃, but I noticed eBook links act funny sometimes (footnotes). Some links work great as footnotes while others are just blank or don't display anything. Is this perhaps because the text, or word count, is too large to display as footnote? Could these perhaps just hyperlink to the text perhaps if blank in footnote? Also hate to ask, but any idea when an update might come out? Perhaps a roadmap for 2015? 😃

  13. Hello, would be great if you could include .pdb (not PDF) format support to your application. It is worth for me to paid for such extension. Thank you.

    BR,
    Pavel

    P.S. - great application!

    1. Sure, PDB is something that we're planning to add together with PRC and MOBI. Thanks :)

  14. was just wondering is bookviser still coming out with new versions or is this became dead software in the Microsoft store? noticed the copyright date of bookviser preview as 2016 which is 2 years old now, also the normal stable versions their dated as 2015,

so has this software has become Abandonware? since theirs no roadmap for 2018 in this blog on this website? again it seems that the creator has not been online for 2 years now? if I am correct about it, did something happen with the creator that they stopped working this this ebook reader?
